seriously though i just don’t feel emotionally invested in clara at all like she sort of wafts around and has a few lines here and there but never has a very meaningful conversation with anyone and she just doesn’t have a personality aside from a very bland ‘i’m clever every now and then i guess and i tell the doctor to shut up sometimes’ and all the doctor really cares about is how she’s a mYStERY that he has to solve like that is the sole reason she’s travelling with him in the tardis atm

like she just doesn’t seem anything like the clara we first met in asylum of the daleks or even in the snowmen. her character seems really half-hearted now since she’s become this strange enigma that’s gotta be worked out??? idk

also why the fuck didn’t vastra and jenny share more scenes together like yes lets get our frickin awesome interspecies victorian crime fighting lesbians and then split them up for 90% of the show and have them barely talk to each other for the other 10% because we need strax to crack some very uninspiring jokes haha ha HA HA THOMAS THOMAS HAHaHAHA H HAAHA HA HAHAh ah AAAA

This reminds me of a really fascinating theological idea I read once. It poses that God meant for the Bible to be full of contradictions, because it isn’t an instruction manual, but a test of character. If you can read through all the books and stories, all the confusing, contradictory statements, and you still choose to take home a message of peace, acceptance, and forgiveness, then you’ve passed God’s test.

I’m not a very religious person, but I still really like that idea.

A group of amateur cave explorers discovered a river in Mexico with banks, trees and leaves just like an ordinary river, but with an additional metric shit ton of “WTF,” because they were hovering 25 feet over it in scuba gear when they discovered it.

While underwater water doesn’t seem possible, the “river” is actually a briny mix of salt water and hydrogen sulfide. It’s much more dense than regular salt water, so it sinks to the bottom and forms a distinct separation that acts and flows like a river.

Deep sea lakes look like normal lakes, complete with sandy and rocky shores. Scientist call these lakes “cold seeps,” but they’re a hotbed for life, because apparently waterfront real estate is a hot commodity under water, too. The “rocky” shores are actually made up of hundreds of thousands of mussels. Even weirder, the lakes under the waves have waves of their own.
